Culvert and Pipe Repair Project on State Highway 93 Complete

January 23, 2012 - CONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATE - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Project finished early and on budget.

BOULDER COUNTY — Crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) have completed a two-part culvert replacement and repair project on State Highway (SH) 93 between mile marker (MM) 14 near SH 170 and MM 16 near the Viele Channel.

The project began in November 2011 and included a detour for SH 93 while old, deteriorating culverts were removed and new culverts were installed. Erosion control measures were implemented to aid future drainage efforts in the area. New guardrails were also installed along SH 93, and the asphalt on the roadway was patched in a few areas. CDOT seeded the areas that were impacted by the detour route so vegetation would regrow.

The project finished more than a week early, as it was scheduled for completion by early February 2012, and wrapped up late last week. It was contracted through KECI Colorado Inc. for $350,000
