I-25 On-Ramps Closed Tonight at Crossroads Boulevard and Harmony Road
LARIMER/WELD COUNTIES – Tonight, Wednesday, December 28, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close the northbound I-25 on-ramp at Exit 259 (Crossroads Boulevard) and the southbound I-25 on-ramp Exit 265 (Harmony Road) so crews can move a large crane across the interstate.
Colorado State Patrol (CSP) will pace all I-25 traffic at reduced speeds from Exit 257 (State Highway 34) northbound to Exit 262 (State Highway 392), and southbound from Exit 268 (Prospect Road) to Exit 262 (State Highway 392). Motorists should expect delays.
Closures tonight are weather contingent and if for some reason work cannot take place, it will be rescheduled for tomorrow night at the same time. There will be no work during New Year’s weekend. CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all road signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone.
The $17.5 million State Highway (SH) 392 interchange project will replace the SH 392 bridge over I-25 with one that is wider to accommodate two through lanes and a left turn lane in each direction. There will also be a six-foot bike lane and a 6.5-foot sidewalk on each side of the bridge. The frontage road on the west side of the interchange will be realigned and the ramps will be reconstructed to accommodate more traffic. In addition, an expanded 90-space carpool/vanpool lot will be constructed in the southwest corner of the interchange. Edward Kraemer and Sons, Inc. is the contractor for this project. The project is being funded by CDOT, the Federal Highway Administration, the City of Fort Collins, and the Town of Windsor.
