CDOT to Surface Seal State Highway 63 Throughout December

December 6, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Work begins tomorrow morning north of Anton.

WASHINGTON COUNTY — Starting Wednesday, December 7 and continuing throughout the month of December, maintenance crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be performing surface sealing activities on State Highway (SH) 63 from mile marker (MM) 17 to 25 just north of Anton near County Road 23.

From 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, motorists can expect alternating single lanes of traffic on the two lane road. Delays should be minimal and CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all road signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone.

Surface sealing is a preventative maintenance technique to inhibit water and debris from settling into cracks in the road. This process can prevent cracks from becoming worse and also can prevent potholes from forming.
