Public Invited to 9th Street Widening Meeting

November 29, 2011 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - CAŇON CITY – The public is invited to a Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) open house regarding the upcoming widening of State Highway 115 (9th Street) between Short Street and Barium Avenue.

It will be held on Wednesday, December 7, at City Hall in Caňon City, 128 Main Street, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Representatives from CDOT and Caňon City will be on hand for questions and comments regarding impacts to local traffic, residents and businesses while construction is underway. In addition to widening the road, the project includes roundabout construction at the 9^th Street/Elm Avenue intersection, storm sewer improvements, new sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and retaining walls.

Construction is scheduled in 2013 and expected to take approximately seven months.
