Railroad Project to Impact Traffic in Springfield

October 14, 2011 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - SPRINGFIELD, CO – Railroad work will require a closure of U.S. 287 through a section of Springfield next week.

On Tuesday, October 18, at approximately 6 a.m., Main Street (U.S. 287) will be closed to through traffic for approximately ½ mile as the BNSF Railway replaces the tracks at its highway crossing between 13th and 15th avenues at the south end of Springfield.  All traffic will be detoured around the closure via Colorado Street, one block west of Main.

The highway is expected to reopen to through traffic by 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19.

Motorists are reminded to please Slow for the Cone Zone, stay alert and pay attention to and obey all work zone/advisory signs and flaggers.
