Paving Operations to Close I-25 Near Johnstown on Sunday

October 20, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Additional single lane closures to be expected through next week.

LARIMER/WELD COUNTIES — On Sunday, October 23, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will rotomill and pave sections of I-25 near State Highway (SH) 60, which will result in full closures of northbound and southbound I-25 during the overnight hours. From Monday, October 24 through Thursday, October 27, northbound and southbound I-25 will have single lane closures so crews can perform median and guardrail work.

To complete the paving operations and additional work, the following closures of I-25 will be in place, weather permitting:

  • Sunday, October 23: Southbound I-25 will be completely closed near SH 60 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: Motorists will detoured via the off and on-ramps at SH 60. Uniformed traffic control will be help direct motorists through the work zone. Speeds will be greatly reduced and motorists should be prepared to stop along the detour.
  • Sunday, October 23: Northbound I-25 will be completely closed near SH 60 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Detour: Motorists will detoured via the off and on-ramps at SH 60. Uniformed traffic control will be help direct motorists through the work zone. Speeds will be greatly reduced and motorists should be prepared to stop along the detour.
  • Monday, October 24 and Tuesday, October 25: There will be single lane closures near SH 60 on southbound I-25 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Speeds will be reduced to 55 MPH.
  • Wednesday, October 26 and Thursday, October 27: There will be single lane closures near SH 60 on northbound I-25 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and on southbound I-25 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Speeds will be reduced to 55 MPH.

Major delays are expected and alternate routes such as US 287 or US 85 are strongly advised. CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all road signs and flaggers, and to Slow for the Cone Zone.
