Upcoming Work to Impact Traffic in I-25/Founders Parkway Area

September 2, 2011 - CASTLE ROCK – Lane and ramp closures are scheduled next week as part of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) State Highway 86 (Founders Parkway) reconstruction project.

The following closures will be in place to allow for the installation of a new storm sewer:

  • Tuesday, September 6, through Friday, September 9 – Only one lane open on the ramp from northbound Interstate 25 to Founders Parkway 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Delays should be anticipated.
  • Wednesday, September 7 & Thursday, September 8 – Northbound on-ramp from eastbound Founders to northbound I-25 closed, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

DETOUR: East on Founders to Front Street, north on Front Street to Allen Street, north on Allen Street to Allen Way, south on Allen Way to Founders, west on Founders to northbound I-25 ramp.

Work also continues further east on SH 86, from North Crowfoot Valley Road to just north of the Ridge Road/5th Street intersection, with traffic remaining in a two-lane configuration (one lane in each direction) through late October or early November.   CDOT is reconstructing 2 ½ miles of highway with concrete pavement, and installing new curbs, gutters, and a raised median.

The entire $6.3 million project is scheduled for completion in November 2011.

Motorists are reminded to please Slow for the Cone Zone, stay alert and pay attention to and obey

all work zone/advisory signs and flaggers.
