Public Invited to Main Street Reconstruction Meeting

September 14, 2011 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - KIT CARSON, CO. – The public is invited to a Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) open house regarding the upcoming reconstruction of U.S. 40/287 (Main Street) through Kit Carson.

It will be held on Wednesday, September 28, at the Kit Carson Town Hall, 301 Main Street, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Representatives from CDOT and the project contractor, Lawson Construction Co., will be on hand for questions and comments regarding impacts to local traffic, residents and businesses while construction is underway. The project includes concrete resurfacing, placement of a new water and sewer line, street lighting, sidewalks, and curbs and gutters.

Work is scheduled to begin later this month, and continues through the end of November. After a winter shutdown, construction resumes in spring 2012, with project completion scheduled in summer 2012.
