Paving on State Highway 13 Next Week
RIO BLANCO COUNTY —Next Monday, October 3 and Wednesday, October 5 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will pave a section of State Highway (SH) 13 from mile marker (MM) 16 to MM 18 near the Rio Blanco Store. Work will not take place on Tuesday.
“By paving this section of the highway, we can smooth the roadway for motorists and can prevent further highway damage this winter,” said CDOT Maintenance Supervisor Scott Marsh.
Work will begin at 7 a.m. and will finish by 5 p.m. on both Monday and Wednesday. At this time, there are no hazardous load restrictions, but due to the narrow roadway, no loads of more than 14 feet will be permitted. Speeds will be reduced to 40 MPH through the work zone.
CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all road signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone.
