Upcoming Maintenance Projects in Pikes Peak Area
Thursday, August 25: Right lane closed on southbound Interstate 25, about four miles south of Fountain, for guardrail repair. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some slowing should be anticipated through the area.
Monday, August 29, through Wednesday, August 31: Flaggers alternating one lane of traffic at various locations along a three mile section of U.S. 85, on the north side of Fountain, for paving operations. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Delays up to 10 minutes should be expected.
Wednesday, August 31, through Thursday, September 1: Left lane closed at various locations on eastbound U.S. 24 (Fountain Boulevard) from Union Boulevard to Academy Boulevard for guardrail installation. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph and some slowing should be anticipated through the area.
Thursday, September 1: Single lane closures along a one-mile segment of northbound Nevada Avenue, north and south of Lake Avenue, for paving operations. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some slowing should be anticipated through the area. In addition, the ramp from Lake to northbound Nevada will be closed. Drivers can use Southgate Road as a detour to northbound Nevada.
Motorists are reminded to please Slow for the Cone Zone, stay alert and pay attention to and obey all work zone/advisory signs and flaggers.
Paving is a preventative maintenance operation, extending a highway’s effective surface life three to five years.
