Southbound I-25 Passing Lane Closed Tonight at State Highway 56 Near Berthoud Exit

August 11, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Speeds reduced to 55 MPH for installation of weather measurement device.

WELD COUNTY — Tonight, August 11, crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be installing a weather puck on the bridge just north of I-25 and State Highway 56 (MM 251) near the Berthoud exit. The southbound passing lane of I-25 will be closed from 8 p.m. tonight until 4 a.m. tomorrow morning but the right hand lane will remain open for traffic.

CDOT crews will close the southbound passing lane on I-25 directly north of the intersection of State Highway 56 at MM 251 at approximately 8 p.m. tonight to install a weather measurement device on the bridge above the highway. The device will read road and weather temperatures for future motorist information. Speeds will be reduced to 55 MPH and motorists are urged to slow down through the construction zone for their safety and the safety of crew members.

Traffic Impacts: Slowing from approximately 8 p.m. tonight until 4 a.m. tomorrow. Speeds will be reduced to 55 MPH and traffic will be reduced to one lane on southbound I-25 north of the intersection with State Highway 56 (Berthoud Exit).
