SH 145 Resurfacing South of Dolores and North of US 160 in Cortez

August 31, 2011 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - Brief maintenance project continues tomorrow, next Tuesday; work zone moves to Cortez later in week.

DOLORES – Colorado Department of Transportation maintenance crews are resurfacing an approximate one-half mile section of SH 145 at the junction of SH 184 (near mile marker 8). The so-called “mill and fill” operation will repair this damaged section of roadway by milling off the top two inches of asphalt and resurface the section with two inches of new asphalt.

The project near Dolores will be underway tomorrow, September 1, and next Tuesday, September 6, weather permitting. Motorists can expect lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

On Wednesday and possibly Thursday next week, the same operation will be done on SH 145 at the junction with US 160 in Cortez. Motorists will encounter lane closures and delays at this busy intersection during the same work hours.

CDOT crews greatly appreciate motorists’ patience during this brief maintenance project. Thank you for going “Slow for the Cone Zone!” To get information about other CDOT projects, the public may call 511, log onto CDOT’s traveler information site at www.cotrip.org or sign up to receive e-mails or text messages via CDOT’s web site at www.coloradodot.info.
