US 40 Intersection Resurfacing in Steamboat

July 8, 2011 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - CDOT Maintenance Crews to Resurface Intersection of US 40 at Trafalger Drive/Hilltop Parkway Over Two Days Next Week.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS – On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, weather permitting, CDOT Maintenance crews will resurface the intersection of US 40 and Trafalger Drive/Hilltop Parkway. The resurfacing is greatly needed to address the potholes and wheel ruts in this section of highway.

On Tuesday, July 12, crews will mill off the top layer of asphalt pavement, to reduce the incidence of reflective cracking up through the new layer of asphalt. On Wednesday, the new asphalt surface will be laid.

TRAVEL IMPACTS: Between the hours of 8 A.M. and 6 P.M., motorists will encounter single-lane closures approaching and through the intersection. It is likely that Trafalger Drive at this intersection will be fully closed during work hours. In this event, the alternate route, to be signed accordingly, will take motorists down to Trafalger Drive’s south connection with US 40, just south of the Hampton Inn.

CDOT greatly appreciates motorists’ patience and safe driving during this brief intersection improvement project – please go “Slow for the Cone Zone!”
