Popular Hanging Lake Rest Area & Trailhead to Remain Open During Rock Scaling
GARFIELD COUNTY –Excel Energy has contracted with Yenter Companies to conduct rock-stabilization activities above the Hanging Lake Rest Area in Glenwood Canyon. Specifically, the work is being done over Excel’s portal building on the Hanging Lake Rest Area access road.
During the work, expected to wrap up by the end of July, Yenter will be staging equipment in the area between the hours of 6 AM and 7 PM. During most weekdays through the month, motorists using the access roads into and out of the rest area may experience single-lane, alternating traffic. The access will be 10-feet wide during work hours—wide loads (as always) are restricted. The rest area and trailhead will remain open at all times.
