Surface Improvements Project on Highway 24, West of Lake George

June 20, 2011 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - Project Delayed One Day - PARK COUNTY – Due to adverse weather, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) postponed today’s U.S. 24 paving operation on the east side of Wilkerson Pass.

The work has been rescheduled for Tuesday, June 21, and Wednesday, June 22.  From 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., a pilot car will be alternating traffic at various locations, beginning just east of the Wilkerson Pass summit and continuing east three miles.  Delays up to 10 minutes should be expected.

The road is being resurfaced with 1 ½ inches of asphalt, preventing surface deterioration and helping to preserve the road base.
