SH 82 Castle Creek Bridge Repair Project Update

May 10, 2011 - PROJECT UPDATE - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - The Castle Creek Bridge Repair Project continues with a detour in place for vehicles traveling outbound (down valley) from Aspen. Inbound vehicles may experience delays as buses are flagged through the down valley detour.

REVISED SCHEDULE FOR FRIDAY, MAY 13: This Friday, May 13, the down-valley detour will be put in place at 7:00 AM instead of 9 AM. Morning commuters should plan for delays on Friday. The purpose of beginning the detour two hours early on Friday morning is to allow contractor ABCO crews extra time to complete waterproofing and paving one lane of the bridge by dark. The waterproofing must be done prior to paving, and crews will then be set to pave more this weekend and stay on track for project completion by Memorial Day.

THIS WEEKEND:  As typical, the down-valley detour will also be in place from 7:00 AM to dark on Saturday, May 14.  No work is currently planned for Sunday May 15.

SCHEDULE FOR WEEK OF MAY 16: Beginning Monday, May 16, the down-valley detour will begin at 9:00 AM.

As always, the fastest way to travel during this construction project is via RFTA.  Questions or comments on this project can be directed to the contractor’s project hotline at 970-300-2283.
