Paving on State Highway 46 Next Week

May 27, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - GILPIN COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be paving State Highway 46 in the Golden Gate Canyon State Park area on Wednesday, June 1.

A one-mile section will be paved (mile 3 – 4), between the Gilpin County line and the south end of Golden Gate Canyon State Park.  Flaggers will be alternating eastbound and westbound traffic from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Delays up to 10 minutes should be expected.

The road is being resurfaced with 1 ½ inches of asphalt, preventing surface deterioration and helping to preserve the road base.
