Emergency Culvert Repair to Close US 34 West of Loveland Tomorrow

May 16, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - LARIMER COUNTY— Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 17th, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) maintenance crews will completely close eastbound and westbound US 34 near milepost 86.5, which is just west of Loveland, for emergency culvert repair.

The closure will be in place from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and detour routes will be in place.

“With high waters and more winter runoff on the way, it is essential that we repair this culvert immediately,” said CDOT Maintenance Supervisor Tom Aguilar.  “To complete the repairs quickly and safely, it is essential that we completely close US 34 for the day.”

During the closure, motorists can take Glade Road (at milepost 87.3) to Larimer County Road 27 and back to US 34.  The detour is approximately 2.5-miles long.  Motorists should expect delays, especially during peak hours.

All lanes of US 34 should reopen by 5 p.m. tomorrow. CDOT would like to thank motorists for their patience during this emergency repair.
