Pueblo Boulevard Improvement Project Set to Start
April 8, 2011 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - PUEBLO – Work to upgrade infrastructure and enhance safety on Pueblo Boulevard (State Highway 45) between U.S. 50 and Goodnight Avenue begins on Monday, April 11.
The Colorado Department of Transportation project includes new raised medians and guardrails, median cable barrier, new sidewalks and streetlights, highway sign replacement and the installation of a fiber optic line. New rails and expansion joints also will be installed on the three bridges along this segment of Highway 45.
Single lane closures should be expected from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Only minor delays are expected. Sidewalk closures also will be required but a detour will be in place for pedestrians.
The $1.2 million project is scheduled for completion in June 2011.
Cruz Construction, Inc. of Colorado Springs, Colo., is the prime contractor.
