Media Invitation - Project Tour: I-70B Concrete Reconstruction to Resume
Negotiating the winter weather, traffic cones are being placed and crews are still gearing up to resume work on I-70 B in Grand Junction. Please join the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor Lawson Construction at the project site to learn more about this final season’s work items, schedule and travel impacts. This project is partially funded by FASTER, or Funding Advancements for Surface Transportation and Economic Recovery (SB 09-108), legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2009.
WHEN: Wednesday, February 9, 1:00 PM
WHERE: At the CDOT project office on 2491 US Hwy. 6/50 (a map file is attached, below)
WHAT: Hear a brief project overview and ask questions of the project team regarding remaining work items and schedule.
Safety and mobility for vehicles and pedestrians will be improved on I-70 B, between 24 Road (at the Mesa Mall) and 24 ¾ Road. The project is widening the highway with two additional driving lanes, installing a new storm sewer system, reconstructing the roadway in concrete, and upgrading traffic signals, lighting, curbs, gutters and sidewalks.
