I-25 Main Street Closure Tomorrow in Walsenburg

January 4, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - WALSENBURG – Track replacement by the Union Pacific Railroad will require a short segment of Main Street (Interstate 25 Business Route) to be closed in Walsenburg tomorrow.

On Wednesday, January 5, Main Street will be closed between 4th Street and 5th Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Local traffic will be able to use city streets to get around the closure but through traffic will need to use the following detour:

  • Northbound Main Street – Right (east) on 5th Street to northbound Interstate 25
  • Southbound Main Street – Right (west) on Spruce Street to Hendren Street, south on Hendren to West 7th Street (U.S. 160)

Southbound I-25 drivers also can use the U.S. 160/State Highway 10 exit (# 50).  From the interchange, traffic can go west on 5th Street to Main.

Drivers are reminded to please Slow for the Cone Zone, stay alert and pay attention to and obey all work zone/advisory signs and flaggers.
