I-70 Lane Closures near Idaho Springs Next Week

November 4, 2010 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - CLEAR CREEK COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be repairing short segments of Interstate 70 next week, requiring lane closures on Floyd Hill and in Clear Creek Canyon.

Beginning on Monday, November 8, and continuing through Wednesday, November 10, one lane of eastboundor westbound I-70 will be closed at various locations between the top of Floyd Hill and the east side of the Twin Tunnels.   The closures will be in place from 6 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m. for asphalt patching and bridge expansion joint repairs.

Work is scheduled for eastbound I-70 during morning hours and on westbound I-70 in the afternoons.  Delays are anticipated but CDOT will monitor traffic and adjust and/or remove lane closures if long backups develop.

Repairs are being made at this time to maintain the highway for the winter.  A major paving and bridge improvement project is scheduled to begin along this segment of I-70 in spring 2011.

Traffic information about this or other CDOT projects is on the cotrip.org website or by calling 511.  Work updates also are available via e-mail.  Please visit www.coloradodot.info and click on the cell-phone icon in the upper right-hand corner.  The link takes you to a list of items you can subscribe to, including I-70 West, Denver to Glenwood Springs.
