DURANGO – On Tuesday, October 5, the Colorado Department of Transportation Maintenance division began a project to improve the roadway surface on US 160/550 south of Durango. The work zone includes the section of highway that lies between two recently completed projects (the concrete resurfacing project through Bodo and the Grandview 4th Lane project). The work zone is from milepost 85 (near the “high bridge” by WalMart) through mile post 88 (near the signal at Farmington Hill). CDOT Maintenance has contracted this project to Four Corners Materials for $1.98 million.

During the project, scheduled for completion by November 23, crews have milled the existing asphalt surface, have placed new asphalt, made bridge improvements (including expansion joint repairs at each end and installation of a waterproof membrane on the deck) and are reconstructing curb and gutter.
