CDOT’S Northwest Region Names New Traffic & Safety Engineer
Znamenacek (pronounced “zuh-NAH-men-a-check”) has more than 11 years of experience in design and highway construction. He has held various engineering positions within CDOT, and began working for CDOT in July 1999 as a Project Engineer in the Staff Traffic division at CDOT headquarters in Denver. After working for seven years in Staff Traffic, he transferred to Region 3 in June 2006, promoting to Operations Engineer in July 2008. During his years at CDOT, Znamenacek has worked on several EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) and EA (Environmental Assessment) projects, been involved in a number of research efforts and has made significant contributions in the areas of safety and traffic operations.
Znamenacek has a very positive and proactive attitude, making him well suited for his position as the region’s new Traffic and Safety Program Engineer.
“Safety and Traffic Engineering is a critical component to all of CDOT’s projects; it is of the highest priority to ensure that we are maximizing safety and operations within the constraints of our budget,” Znamenacek said. “I am excited to work with regional partners and local governments to find ways to develop projects that will improve highway safety in Western Colorado.”
