Bridge Deck Repairs to Close US 6

October 27, 2010 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - MORGAN COUNTY – Starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, October 28th and continuing until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 29th, US 6 at milepost 373.256, which is just east of Brush, will be completely closed for bridge deck repairs.

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) maintenance crews will rotomill the bridge deck, replace deteriorating concrete and then repave the bridge deck in asphalt.

“We have recently noticed signs of heavy wear and tear on the bridge deck so we must repair it before winter hits,” said CDOT Maintenance Supervisor Wes Templeton.  “Since we need to rotomill the existing roadway surface and repave, the work will take two days to complete before we can reopen the bridge to traffic.”

During the closure, a signed detour route will be in place that takes motorists to State Highway (SH) 71 where they will travel north to Morgan County Road U.  Once on County Road U, travel east to US 6.

All lanes of US 6 at milepost 373.256 will reopen by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 29th.
