Sample Calculation Format

Sample calculations are provided here as an example of the intended format of final calculation sets. Calculations should be: • Clear and legible • Organized (indexed) so individual calculations are easy to find • Easy to follow calculations should provide inputs (givens) and results. This should include a summary of the purpose of the calculation including project, background, logistic, theme, and basics of the calculations • Well-documented - include specification references for equations and values, sketches, etc., and when software output is included, all inputs (sketches, etc.) should be provided as well • Single PDF for the entire set of calculations (see the Bridge Design Manual for required format and stamping requirements) Examples shown are not indicative of every calculation necessary for a project but only of preferred organization. Please refer to the Bridge Design Manual for additional examples of sample calculations.
