Before you can receive federal funding for design and construction, your project must be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and your Metropolitan Planning Organization's (MPO) Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), if you are within a Metropolitan Planning Area. Information can be found in the Planning Process (TIP/STIP) section.

The Overview Flowchart outlines the process for designing, constructing and closing a project. Each of the boxes in this flowchart represents one or more detailed flowcharts that describe the specific actions to be taken to complete each step of project delivery.
