Qualified Manufacturers List
1. Scope
1.1 The Standard Practice for Quality Management Plans and the Qualified Manufacturers List is also referenced as Colorado Procedure (CP) 11.
1.2 This Standard specifies requirements and procedures for a certification system that shall be applicable to all referenced manufacturers, as well as suppliers and contractors within certain industries. Certifying a Manufacturer’s Quality Management Plan is not an automatic acceptance of any particular product, but an acknowledgement that the Manufacture has taken steps to ensure that their quality controls meets the applicable Industry standards. Manufacturers whose Quality Management Plans are acceptable will be placed on the Qualified Manufacturers List (QML).
1.3 The complete document CP 11 duplicates in its entirety the information presented in the most recent CDOT Field Materials Manual (FMM).
1.4 With respect to this Standard there are two materials classes. This Colorado Procedure is divided into two parts to correlate to these materials classes. Each Part is divided into Sub-Parts, which are a grouping of products or Manufacturers that have a certain commonality.
1.5 The Qualified Manufacturers List (QML) Table of Contents and the respective tables listing the manufacturers that are deemed qualified.
Part I. Standard Manufactured Materials
Asphalt Binders, Asphalt Emulsions, Hydraulic Cement, Fly Ash (Pozzolan), and Hydrated Lime are no longer posted within the QML, but are placed within the APL. Using the APL Search feature the products can be found within either the Asphalt Category or the Concrete Category with the Sub-Category being the applicable standard manufactured materials.
Part II. Fabricated Structural Materials
Sub-Part 1: Steel Reinforcing Bars & Steel Dowel Bars
Sub-Part 2: Epoxy Coaters for Reinforcing Steel
Sub-Part 3. Precast Concrete Structures
1.6 The Project Engineer shall not accept any product from a manufacturer in one of the referenced materials classes that has not been placed on the QML regardless of the level of product acceptance.
